Bio

Pearl Duncan covered Newport-Bermuda Yacht Races, Miami-Montego Bay Yacht Races, Caribbean Ocean Racing Circuit (CORC) Races and others, for Sailing, Sail, and Yacht Racing/Cruising Magazines.  Now she writes about historic New York and New Yorkers.  As a travel writer, she wrote about Europe, the Caribbean and Australia for Essence, The Robb ReportBlack Enterprise, and other publications.  And she wrote about adventure travel for The Soho Weekly News and New York Magazine.  Her biggest adventure was touring the Australian Outback, and now she tours and cruises historic New York, especially its real estate to find the dramatic stories.

New York's real estate is high adventure; it was wild, even in colonial times.  Pearl is the author of Water Dancing, a book of short stories.  She is completing a book about DNA and ancestry, having traced her ancestors to colonial America, medieval Africa, and medieval Europe.  Recently she researched and completed a book naming the identity of the ship found in the foundations of the World Trade Center.  That story too is about New York's hot real estate.
