Yoga Gil provides yoga classes and private sessions to New Yorkers on the Upper West Side, Greenwich Village and across from Central Park. Gil certifications include E-RYT 200, RYT 500 & WCS. He completed his first teacher training at YogaWorks. Continued his training at ISHTA Yoga and was honored to receive his Advanced Teacher Certification from Yogiraj Alan Finger. Also received an Ashtanga Certificate from David Williams and Theraupeutic Yoga teacher training from OM Yoga. Gil’s classes and private sessions are invigorating and inspirational with a strong focus on the breath and proper alignment. His supportive style of teaching and sense of humor sends his students home with a smile on their faces and softness in their hearts.
Gil believes that yoga will improve your overall health and well-being and help you to realize increased flexibility and balance as you build strength, focus and awareness. People of all ages and levels of fitness can do yoga. Physical postures (known as asana in Sanskrit) are a gentle way to improve one’s health by making the body more flexible, enhance muscular strength and improve the functions of circulation, digestion and balance. Open your heart to simple techniques which have enlightened people for centuries and enjoy the stillness of reduced stress, radiant health and restful sleep.
Gil's yoga therapy program for breast cancer surviors was develped by consulting with senior medical professionals at NYU Medical Center and New York University. He is certified to teach Yoga for Cancer Surviors and a graduate of Om Yoga's Teacher Training for Women Cancer Survivors.
His classes and private sessions welcome those new to yoga as well as experienced yogis.
