I chose this restaurant to meet a friend who I hadn't seen in nearly 2 years while she was in the Peace Corps in Africa. We had spent a semester abroad together in college in southern France, so the cuisine was right up our ally. There is another L'ybane in Nice, France, which made it even more fitting... We got 6 or 7 of the Mediterranean appetizers, which were delicious. This included tzaziki yogurt and pita bread, beef dumplings, shrimp, falafel, cheesy pita, and asparagus… The atmosphere of the restaurant was great for a weeknight… Our water and wine glasses were constantly being refilled, and small empty plates picked off as we worked our way through the meal. The lighting made it feel very peaceful and warm, and we stayed for nearly 2 and a half hours. I will definitely be returning another time with friends after work… – Yelp.com
A true New York experience!…[W]e had four appetizers, [all] delicious: hummus, falafel, and grilled asparagus is quite good. The sauce with the shrimp beignet is delightful. The best part however is the jazz band – a trio of older gentlemen, and an entourage of maybe 10 singers. Every singer that sat in was amazing, and took one back to the ‘30s or ‘40s when performers could really sing, and entertain impromtu!
