About NYChessKids

NYChessKids offers a wide range of scholastic chess activities for kids.

NYChessKids offers both a morning class and an after school program at several schools, including PS 116, PS 163, SMS (Special Music School) and Solomon Schechter.  We are devoted to teaching children the game of chess.

Please note that our After School Chess Program is also open for children who come from other schools.

We are also very proud to offer a class for children with special needs. Here at NYChessKids, we believe that chess should be enjoyed by all, regardless of any other condition.

Chess Camp

We offer a Chess Camp four times a year, which presents a perfect environment for ambitious kids that want to improve their chess quickly. These camps can be attended for one week intervals during: Christmas Holidays, February semester breaks, April semester breaks, and a summer session from June to August.

Tournaments

Once a month, NYChessKids organizes a Chess Tournament hosted by PS 116 that normally attracts more than 200 kids. For more information regarding this, please see our site.

Online Chess, Private Lessons, and The Program

Our Online School offers several workshops and group lessons for students that would prefer to have chess lessons in a virtual classroom.

Ambitious students are also welcome to take private lessons with our chess teachers either at their home or online in our virtual classroom.

NYChessKids has developed a comprehensive and concise chess program that is a fundamental part in educating and teaching our chess students. The Chess Program is comprised of ten different skill levels. Each level defines a wide range of chess knowledge that each kid has to learn before he or shee can advance to the next level. Getting promoted and moving on to the next level is an important part of recognizing and acknowledging our students' effort and success.
