Event Details: Wed Apr 27, 2011 - 6:30pm at Brooklyn Historical Society ( 128 Pierrepont Street, near Court and Clinton Streets )

Thursday’s "Spare Times" events Listings in The New York Times mentions the upcoming speech and presentation at the Brooklyn Historical Society.  I look forward to meeting the fascinating people who have been reading my articles about Colonial New York and other colonial places and ancestors. It will be a fun evening, especially now that we have seen Kate Middleton’s coat of arms this week, and I will, for the first time, discuss publicly my own official coat of arms, granted by the Queen. Lots of cultural events this week and next.

The Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street, near Court and Clinton Streets.  Wednesday, April 27 at 6:30 p.m., 718-222-4111. Admission free with admission to the museum, free for members, $6 for adults, $4 for students and seniors.

The announcement is in Friday's New York Times. I was so busy yesterday, at the end of the day when I finally saw the NY Times announcement online, I wondered how I'd missed it in the day's paper. Well, the announcement was posted yesterday, but it is in today's Times, Friday, Good Friday. The Friday Times has two arts sections, Weekend Arts: Movies, Performances, which has articles and listings, and Weekend Arts: Fines Arts, Leisure, which also has articles and listings. The announcement is on the back page of the Weekend Arts: Fine Arts, Leisure section, under Spare Times; it's the first listing in the Around Town column. The speaking event's description is listed under, Museum and Sites, Brooklyn Historical Society. Enjoy, Pearl
