This gives a whole new meaning to shoo fly pie.
The popular spot for pie and barbecue in DUMBO, Bubby's, was closed by the Department of Health this weekend following a third failed inspection.
A sign posted in the window explained why they had failed, Eater reports. According to the sign, a broken storm drain had caused minor flooding, which led to an increase of flies. They expect to reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, July 19.
However, though Bubby's revealed the cause of their closure, the flies were just a small piece of the pie.
In addition to the drainage and bug issues, health inspectors also found live roaches in both the food and non-food areas; a variety of flies, including fruit flies, bottle flies, blow flies, drain flies and Phorid flies; food not protected from the source of contamination; evidence of mice or live mice; and improperly installed plumbing.
The two previous failed inspections came in May and June.
