Throwing together an energetic and colorful spin on today's pop-culture, Burton Morris boldly creates enticing images that people can relate to in everyday life. His claim to fame began in the mid-90s when his artwork was selected to hang on the set of NBC's hit television show Friends. Since then his work has been selected for the 76th Academy Awards, the Paris World Cup Soccer Games and the 2004 Summer Olympics.
On Monday, January 30 Morris will be bringing his iconic artwork, “Spirit of the Olympic Game” to the Chelsea Piers Sports Center Health Club to display for the members and guests.
This particular collection was commissioned by the International Olympic Committee for the 2004 Athens Summer Games and has since been seen all around the world. However, this is the very first time this exhibit will be on display in New York.
Morris' artwork has raised millions of dollars for numerous charities worldwide and he has become recognized for his popular work for H.J. Heinz Corporation, Absolut Vodka, and Chanel and Kellogg's Corporation.
If you are not a member of the club and would like to attend, you can purchase a Day Pass for $50. So come to Chelsea Piers Sports Center Health Club this Monday at 6 p.m. and catch a glimpse of one-of-a-kind pop-culture artwork!
