Event Details: Thu Mar 10, 2011 - 7:00pm at The Altman Building ( 135 W. 18th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenue )

Everyone know the best way to get your highbrow wine knowledge on is by sampling the stuff, so Thrillist suggests you purchase a ticket to Bottlenotes' three-hour vino extravanganza, "A Taste of Spring: Wines From Around the World." For less than the cost of one bottle at your average Manhattan bistro, you can sip on Old World and New World varietals, plus do the meats-and-cheeses thing courtesy of Salumeria Rosi and Murray's Cheese (both of whom really know their stuff about charcuterie). There will even be opportunities to try pricey wines that don't always get included in large-scale tastings, like Amarone, Barolo and Chauteauneuf-du-Pape. For that last one you might want to get some pronunciation notes to go along with the Bottlenotes.

You can only score tickets to Bottlenotes' springy wine fest at Thrillist, so hit them up now before other people out-culture you.

Bottlenotes' "A Taste of Spring: Wines From Around the World" will take place in The Altman Building, located at 135 West 18th Street, between Sixth and Seventh Avenue.
