Back in December, it was announced that the Whitney Museum of American Art would break ground on a new location next to the Meatpacking District's High Line park. According to L Magazine, the museum confirmed that May 24 will see a groundbreaking ceremony near the High Line park begining at 11 a.m. Those in attendance will include the museum's director, Adam D. Weinberg, the site's architect, Renzo Piano, as well as several artists, city officials and trustees. The project is slated to finish in 2015.
More information on the new Whitney Museum building and its ground-breaking ceremony near the High Line is available in The L Magzine.
