No more balderdash over what to call 5 Ninth's future lounge.
Zagat reported last November that the Meat Packing eatery was a survivor in an area with an ever increasing turnover. The success has now led to the creation a trendy pre-Prohibition style lounge for the 3rd floor space above the restaurant.
It's called "The Haberdasher," and the lounge is being marketed as a "speakeasy meets cabaret that moonlight as a art-house theater," Zagat reports.
Haberdasher is a word rarely heard these days, referring to a purveyor of men's clothing or other apparel and accessories.
But they don't sell clothes here, instead providing weekly burlesque, silver screen classics and bartenders who will invent, and name a cocktail in your honor, according to Urban Daddy.
The Haberdasher opens on January 19, and will be open 7 days a week.
