Chelsea's General Theological Seminary struck a deal with the Brodsky Organization in 2010 to build luxury apartments on seminary property in order to make a buck, and the plan is now coming to fruition, reports Curbed.
The seminary had sold three buildings and a plot of land to the developer for $47.5 million. Recently released details now indicate that one of those buildings at 422 West 20th street will be converted into condo space.
The building, which currently holds student housing, will have its interior renovated and its exterior restored by Alan Wanzenberg Architects. The 37 one-bedroom through three-bedroom units are expected to hit the market by March. They will run 600 to 1,650 square feet in size.
There will also be a part-time doorman, a gym, roof-deck and private storage available. Asking prices are expected to range from $640,000 to $2.05 million.
