Reading has never been as appetizing as the prospect of purchasing the latest book from Taschen, Menu Design in America, 1850-1985 and receiving a free meal at the Soho House. Grub Street reported on the event that is completely free for anyone who signs up after purchasing this latest book.
The book highlights nearly 800 American menus and dives into the concept behind the printed menu. The menus range from an October 11, 1847, Chicago City Hotel copy, to a 1981 menu from Wolfgang Puck’s Spago. The book is filled with classic menus from restaurants that are still open today and some iconic pieces.
One preorder of the book will admit two guests upon registering for a Question & Answer session featuring the executive editor Jim Heimann, New York Times design columnist Steve Heller and executive chef of Soho House Paul Gerard. You can even get a copy of your book signed!
