You really can't go wrong with mac 'n' cheese. But you can make it better at Sadie's Kitchen, opening up on Monday, according to Diner's Journal.
The 1930s retro-cafe offers comfort food, as well as macaroni and cheese with lots of savory toppings: bacon, crayfish, mushrooms. Apparently, the trick is adding tomato the cheese sauce, but when cooked correctly, mac and cheese is a magic best experienced with just a hearty appetite.
Other dishes to try are the sandwiches on big sorghum-flour biscuits, macaroni salad and when you're done with all of that, try a slice of the bourbon pecan pie.
Owners Peter Sibilia and Damien Vizuete said the restaurants name comes from Sadie Smith, who took care of Peter's mother and raised him on her good cooking.
