Klaus von Nichtssagend Gallery is presenting Tomato, and exhibition by Danish artist Thomas Ovlisen. The exhibition will feature new paintings and sculptures by the artist, who now lives in Copenhagen, from January 27 to March 4.
The exhibit contains two large freestanding and monolithic sculptures, as well as several paintings. The other works are interactive, allowing the viewer to be an active participant in the show. Ovlisen’s sculptures conjure images of surfboards, beaches, and American pop culture.
French artist Bruno Hadjadj, who moved to New York in the late 80s and soon established himself in the cities underground art scene, was one of the many patrons who came to the record the clubs final 48 hours. In his new exhibit entitled Bye Bye CBGB, he uses the photographs, sketches, videos and interviews gathered to give visitors a unique and fascinating look at the venue as well as the legions of punk-rock fans who turned up in the final hours to pay their respects.
The exhibition takes place at the Clic Bookstore & Gallery and begins this Friday on February 2 and runs through February 28.
