Parisian party man André Saraiva is taking Chinatown with his newest experiment in New York nightlife.
Le Baron is made to deceive. You would never guess from its inconspicuous exterior that it houses a three-story clubhouse that parties and looks like an absinth-slinging, fin-de-siècle Shanghai harem. Urban Daddy reports that the entrance hallway walls are plastered with images of scantily clad dancers lit with foreboding red light that draw you inside to the diamond-patterned dance floor, encircled by a balcony of leather banquettes and finished by a well-stocked bar dipped in black lacquer.
You may remember Saraiva from his last New York venture, the Beatrice Inn, where most people were actually out, unless of course they were Lindsay Lohan. Apparently, the door policy at Le Baron is tight, but the club is in fact open to the public, which, according to New York Magazine, Beatrice never was in practical terms.
Take a step inside the Frenchman’s new decadent, pseudo-oriental spot.
