Alexa Woodward spent much of January touring to support her new album, It's a Good Life, Honey, If You Don't Grow Weary. The release arrives roughly two years after Woodward made her music a full-time endeavor. Before that, she'd been dividing her time between Village folk venues and, of all things, law school. Her 2009 album Speck got her on the road, and a slew of television syncs helped cover motel and Waffle House costs. With the new album, her understated songcraft, grounded in simple banjo phrases and eerie stories, is stronger than ever. Hushed as Woodward's music can be, you won't grow weary for a long time after her Living Room set.
