Looking for a small intimate music hall to see new, emerging or locally known artist? Go to Rockwood Music Hall in the Lower East Side. Recently, I stopped in Rockwood for the Red Rover Social hosted by Red Rover Style but I was earlier than I thought the event was supposed to happen so I stuck around for the Maggie McClure show. OMG. I promise to never write that again in a story but she blew my mind away. She was able to capture me in the last 10 minutes of her show than any other artist has in a while.
Maggie's vocals remind me of Sara Bareilles, Katy Pfall aka Mighty Kate and A Fine Frenzy. Maggie just kicked off her fall tour and will be touring around the U.S.A. over the next few months.
The decor, ambience, crowd, music,and flashing lights from outside provided a beautfiul backdrop to her performance. I cannot wait to return to see more artist. This might just be my new chill spot to hear great music.
Rockwood Music Hall offers great music, wine, ambience, crowd, bartender, doorman, and fantastic location. Most likely if you're in the neighborhood and just walking by please stop in.
