IBM and Microsoft Rumored Tenants of 51 Astor Place

Just as the Death Star had Darth Vadar and the Emporer, the black glass and black granite monstrosity coming to 51 Astor Place may have some very imposing residents of its own.
Curbed is reporting that both IBM and Microsoft have expressed interest in leasing the entirty of developer Edward Minskoff's building. The 12-story Fumihiko Maki-designed building is about as out of place as any building in New York.
While some of the building's features, a private green roof and an urban plaza, aren't exactly unique, the building's exterior is incredibly unattractive. Solid black, it looks like something that crashed into Astor Place via outer space.
At least there will be shade in the summer.
