Pizza Snobo

Little Italy is moving north and Staten Island is going east! Rubirosa, located on Mulberry Street between Prince and Spring Streets, has brought the excellent pizza recipe from Joe & Pat’s (Staten Island) into Manhattan. If you don’t want to make the trip to the outer borough, heading to Rubirosa is your answer. This NoLita spot might serve the best slice in the city.

The slices are on the lighter side with a fantastic thin crust. The crunch is near perfect. The sauce is excellent and there is plenty of it. The sauce-to-cheese ratio is spot-on. We are also fond of the mixture of cheeses, which results in melt-in-your-mouth richness. Oftentimes, PizzaSnobo has a favorite part of a pizza, but with Rubirosa it’s hard to pick, because it is all so good.

Slices are only available until 5 p.m., but don’t let that stop you from eating a whole pie. In addition to pizza they also offer a full menu.

The slices are great...try the Vodka as well as the regular. They also have great sandwiches at lunch that come w/a very good salad...It's not on the lunch menu but if Matt is there ask for the Cacciatore (Hunter)...it's Chicken Parm hero topped w/broccoli rabe (I was craving Chicken Parm...but wanted something dark green & healthy as well)
