Museum of Sex Opens 2 New Exhibits
Museum of Sex Opens 2 New Exhibits - Flatiron & Gramercy - Arts & Culture - NYC

The Museum of Sex has just opened two scintillating exhibitions, F*uck Art and Universe of Desire, that examine the role of sexuality in the public arena.

F*uck Art, on display from February 8 to June 10, features images that skirt the limits of cultural appropriacy and challenge notions of societal taboo by pondering "the provocative." As a supportive response to the country’s pervasive anti-institution sentiment, 20 street artists come together to question the extent to which we are comfortable with sexual expression in public space.

Universe of Desire, showing from February 8 to November 4, addresses the effects of the growing electronic sphere on sexuality’s development. Sex has made its way into almost every method of web-driven communication to date, and it becomes increasingly commonplace for intimate sexual experiences to find themselves transmuted into digital signals, anonymous and public, nowhere and everywhere.

These exhibits are food for thought and could be an excellent way to add an intellectual component to the otherwise highly erotic evening the Museum of Sex is offering on Valentine's Day.

See the Museum’s website for more information on its two new exhibits and its sexy Valentine’s Day package for couples.
