GPBA Joins Epiphany Church for Adopt a Family for Christmas
GPBA Joins Epiphany Church for Adopt a Family for Christmas - Flatiron & Gramercy - Family - NYC

Once again, as part of our Gramercy Park Block Association Holiday Community Service, we are participating in "Adopt a Family for Christmas." This project of the Epiphany Church Social Action Committee is being coordinated by Virginia Urban.

People who want to adopt a family should send an email to Virginia at virginiaurban@yahoo.com stating the number of people they would like to adopt and any preferences (age of children, gender).

She will then send information about a particular family - names, gender, age, sizes, special requests. The adopter shops for the family members as if they were their own. The number of gifts given and money spent is up to the adopter. The adopter wraps and packs the gifts according to instructions they will be given. Drop off information is below.

Monday, December 19
3:00-7:00 pm Epiphany School
234 East 22nd St (at Second Ave.)

Gifts will then be delivered to the agencies described below.

"Adopt a Family" also accepts monetary donations if people don't want to shop.  Send cash or a check made out to "Epiphany Adopt a Family" to Virginia Urban, 321 Avenue C #3H, New York, NY 10009

"Adopt a Family" works with the following social service agencies, all in East Harlem:

Fox House - A shelter for homeless women and children
Seton House - Supportive housing for the formerly homeless
STEPS -  A family violence prevention program - Edwin Gould Services for Families and Children
Little Sisters of the Assumption - Family health services
St. Paul's Church - A poor parish next door to Fox House
