Police Foundation Peter Figoski Scholarship Fund

On Monday, 12/12, Police Officer Peter Figoski gave his life for this city. To express appreciation for Officer Figoski, the NYC Police Foundation has launched a scholarship fund for this single father's four daughters: Christine 20, Caitlyn 18, Carolyn 16, and Corrine 14. 

Tax-deductible donations can be made by mailing checks to: Police Foundation Peter Figoski Scholarship Fund, 555 5th Ave., 15th fl, New York, NY 10017, or with a credit or debit card by clicking here. Be sure to select "Peter Figoski Scholarship Fund" under designation.

For whom: Five local charities

Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies Toy and Gift Drive

When: Wed., 12/14 until Sun., 12/18

What: New unwrapped toys, books and clothing

For whom: Needy toddlers, youth and teens

Town & Village Newspaper Toy Drive

For whom: Young patients at Beth Israel Medical Center

The 13th Precinct's "New York Cares" Annual Coat Drive

When: Wed., 12/14 until Sat., 12/31

Where: 13th Precinct - 230 E. 21st St.

What: Adult and children's coats (gently used, freshly laundered).

For whom: Homeless shelters, families in need.

"Adopt a Family for Christmas" - Project of Epiphany Church Social Action Committee

When: Drop off Mon., 12/19, 3-7pm

Where: Epiphany School, 234 E. 22nd St. (at Second Ave.)
