Renovation without sanitation.
A day after its re-opening celebration, Jay-Z's 40/40 Club was shut down by the Department of Health, according to DNAinfo.
Apparently, the $10 million makeover wasn't enough - or even close to being enough - to pass a routine DOH inspection.
The nightclub racked up a massive 69 violation points, more than twice the amount to receive a passing "C" grade, for failing to keep food at appropriate temperatures and a lack of employee cleanliness.
The New York Post claims the club was shut down immediately after the inspection, allowing only those already inside to stay.
However, a club employee claims they shut their doors at their regular 4 a.m. closing time that night and re-opened as scheduled at 5 p.m. the next day.
Either way, the 40/40 club has a lot of work to do if it hopes to get below the 28-point threshold for which establishments receive a "C" grade.
