Come on, Bob!
Home improvement expert and host of This Old House, Bob Vila, recently sold his loft overlooking Madison Square Park for just over $6 million, a full $1 million less than what he paid for it, The New York Observer reports.
Vila bought the two-bedroom, three-bath penthouse in 2009, and surprisingly did little renovations to the place, as it was already move-in ready.
Vila seemed to have known that he would lose money on the deal, as he put it on the market in May for $5.7 million, which would already have been a $300,000 loss.
This is unusual given that many properties purchased after the housing bubble had burst have been selling for more.
