Event Details: Sat Mar 3, 2012 - 1:00am at Affirmation Arts ( 523 West 37 Street, bet. 10th and 11th ave. )

Affirmation Arts, in conjunction with The Andy Warhol Museum, is presenting a special exhibition entitled Warhol Confections & Confessions. This exhibition features unique vintage gelatin silver prints and is opening Saturday March 3.

Artist Andy Warhol is best known for his colorful pop art images of pop icons and Campbell’s Soup cans, as well as his hundreds of films and frequent appearances at Studio 54. However many do not know that Warhol was into fine art photography. The photographs date from 1974 to 1983 and have never been seen outside of the Warhol Museum, and eight have never been previously exhibited.

Warhol Confections & Confessions celebrates the unknown side of the seemingly transparent artist. The exhibition runs through May 5 and will be complemented by a catalog of the same name with an essay by Eric C. Shiner, Director of The Andy Warhol Museum.
