Ferris Bueller is no longer on his day off as Matthew Broderick prepares to make his return to Broadway. The two-time Tony Award-winner, appearing in shows like The Producers and Brighton Beach Memoirs will star alongside Kelli O’Hara from South Pacific. Their new musical Nice Work If You Can Get It is a take on a classic 1920 musical farce and is directed by three-time Tony Award-winner Kathleen Marshall. Based around songs by George and Ira Gershwin, the show is about a tough bootlegger (O’Hara) who meets a wealthy playboy (Broderick) on the night of his wedding. This will be Broderick’s first musical since The Producers.

Nice Work is set to open in April 2012. Location and schedule have yet to be announced.
