If they felt like floating, it wasn't just the altitude.
Hailing from the frigid State of Alaska, Stephanie Figarelle and Lela McArthur shall now be recognized not only as wife and wife, but as the first same-sex couple to be married on top of the Empire State Building, according to the New York Post. Luckily the elevator didn't break down as they were carried up the skyscraper - it's been a problem in recent months since a wedding chapel was set up on the 61st floor.
The pair was one of four couples married at the Empire State Building that day after winning a contest that only allows weddings on Valentine's Day.
Following up in the Figarelle-McArthur wedding were the first same-sex couple from New York State itself, Shawn Klein and Phil Fung, Gothamist reports.
