It looks like New York needs to strap on its dancing shoes - the city’s gay nightlife scene just got a little spicier with opening of XL Nightclub, a Midtown LGBT-centric spot that, according to the Village Voice, fully turns its back on the laid back lounge vein of the clubbing world, and brings back that good old-fashioned raving madness we all crave in a decent dance party.
There’s something interplanetary about the club’s aesthetic - a black, glossy interior propels patrons with its through Star Trek-like corridors and into the giant, twinkling main event of the dance floor.
The flaxen haired teen idol Aaron Carter attended the club’s VIP preview, so, obviously, the event was peppered by excited girlish shrieks and, incidentally, quite a few fairy costumes that gave the event the feel of an ecstasy-riddled rave of the ninety’s. Sounds like quite a promising venue.
