Mount Tom Day Camp is opening its doors to Brooklyn!
For the first time since 1955, when this renowned day camp was established, “city kids” from Brooklyn will have the opportunity to participate in Mount Tom's amazing programs and special events at their magnificent country setting in nearby Westchester County. Located on the former JC Leyendecker estate in New Rochelle, Mount Tom is the closest suburban camp to New York City. Their facility features three outdoor pools, tennis courts, ball fields, a 19-room mansion and much more. All activities are on-site and include “The Challenge” (an outdoor adventure course that features two zip lines, a 30-foot-high climbing wall and a “flying squirrel”), daily Red Cross Learn to Swim lessons, pony rides, two nature areas featuring a wonderful variety of animals, beach volleyball, theater games, music and many wonderful electives.
Mount Tom is also a well-known preschool during the school year and many of the teachers work with their early childhood campers in the summer. All groups and activities at Mount Tom are led by experienced professional educators!
Well-supervised and air-conditioned round-trip transportation will be available for the 2012 season from convenient bus stops in Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill. Specially trained and caring bus counselors always supervise campers on the buses.
