There is something about walking into a sweaty gym with loud music and crowded workout areas, that leads potential clients astray. Enhancing your mind and body should be done in a personal environment where the space is both bright and inviting. Perfecting your wellness is not about using the latest machines, but rather about utilizing the space and people who can help you excel.
Leave behind any expectations of what you thought a health studio could provide and step into Living Room SoHo. You will experience wellness and vitality, both inside and out in this holistic movement studio, offering services in nutrition, massage therapy, yoga and meditation, and more.
What allows to get the most out of your experience at Living Room SoHo depends highly on the members of the staff. Each trainer has their own specific area of training, but all have a background in GYROTONIC and GYROKNESIS.
One of the original master trainers in GYROTONIC, GYROKNESIS, and all specialized equipment, Miriam Barbosa focuses her training towards injury prevention and rehabilitation, as well as body conditioning. Miriam is the former Associate Artistic Director of the USC Dance Company and Assistant Professor with the USC Dance Program.
Founder and Director of Living Room SoHo, Angeliki Karamina has studied GYROKNESIS under master trainer, Young-Ah Kin and GYROTONIC under authorized master trainer, Sebastian Plettenberg. With 20 years of dancing under her belt, she was unable to perform professionally, due to dance-related injuries. Through the intentional breathing and spiraling movements of both GYROTONIC and GYROKNESIS, she has created a new recognition of her spirit.
Ex-professional dancer and certified GYROKNESIS and GYROTONIC trainer, Alejandro Piris, spent nine years of his life dancing with the American Ballet Theater, and two years with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. His sessions tend to focus on each individual, allowing them to set personal goals and expectations as they learn about their body. In 2009, he attained a Personal Trainer Certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine adding to his accreditation.
There are a wide variety of trained professionals working at the studio who are dedicated to accommodating clients unique needs and specific goals. In order to help train a mix of ages, abilities, shapes and sizes, instructors work to create a custom-to-you approach.
With a range of trainers with different emphases and philosophies including educational adviser Hillary Cartwright and a soft décor, Living Room SoHo is a well-rounded and broadly informed atmosphere in which you can practice, learn and even become a certified trainer.
