Mets thank the Bravest for service before 9/11 anniversary
New York Mets

Mets third baseman David Wright, pitcher Mike Pelfrey, and COO Jeff Wilpon paid a visit to the firehouse across the street from Ground Zero on Friday afternoon, one day before the ninth anniversary of 9/11. The Mets have been visiting Engine 10/Ladder 10 as part of a community outreach program every year since 2005, and are proud to help honor those men who gave their lives. Pelfrey, who was only 17 at the time of the attacks, told reporters 'we remember where the real heroes are.'

Wright told DNAinfo 'these guys’ everyday jobs go under the radar…on a daily basis these guys should get more credit, not just on 9/11, but throughout the year.’
