Before the eve of Patron of the New's first birthday, the fashion bloggers from Exposed Zippers are out as always to uncover the stories behind the image. A picture is worth a thousand words after all.
During an interview with Al Abayan, the founder, curater and quintessential patron of Patron of the New explains how he keeps up with the business so nothing gets old.
As he works with almost 80 brands, companies, artists and designers at any given time, the focus is predominately drawn from Abayan's own personal taste, Zippers tells us; yet he won't turn a deaf ear or a blind eye to something fresh on the horizon.
While Abayan does not wish to be an exclusive vendor, he does not dismiss the day that it will happen, preferring now to be "a key in elevating a collection's presence within the U.S."
Apparently its not difficult attracting customers. Abayan told The New York Times he never expected to see his matrilineage reflected in his work, but "when it comes to clothes, I am my mother's son...," a source told the Times.
