BOOK SIGNING AND WINE TASTING ON OCTOBER 5
Two fabulous events were held within blocks of each other on October 5 from
5:30 - 8:30PM on Third Avenue in the East 60's: Les Compagnons held a
wine tasting at Manhattan Wine Xchange (64th St.), and Unleashed by Petco
(67th St.) held a book signing for Sarah Cavallaro's Dogs Have Angels Too.
Madison and I stopped by Les Compagnons' wine tasting first to meet up with
"Doggie Mom" Grace Forster and her terriers, Portia and Rosie, as well as
Roberto Negrin (of Hec-lin Designs) and his Chihuahua, Athena, who had a
birthday just the day before and was dressed to the nines. Les Compagnons
was showcasing their four wines: Golden Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rosé and Pinot Noir, which were all delicious. And a portion of the proceeds goes to support NYC-based animal organizations, including The Toby Project, Stray From the Heart, NY SAVE and GothamCityKitties.org.
Next, we all walked over to Unleashed at Petco to meet author Sarah
Cavallaro and make new human and canine friends at the book signing. (Please
see my review of Dogs Have Angels Too under a separate story.) The event,
which was put together by Dana Humphrey's PR firm, Whitegate PR, also had
some wonderful beverages from the Twisted Lemonade Factory . While humans sipped on warm orange lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and mint-infused lemonade, we got our
books signed, talked with Cavallaro about her inspiration and took photos
with all the dogs and owners. Dogs feasted on treats from the staff at
Unleashed. And Bideawee was there to show two dogs, including Petey, who were
both up for adoption. Madison even walked away with a Fall pumpkin sweater.
Unleashed at Petco will be having its annual Howl-o-ween costume contest on
Saturday, October 29th from 12 - 2PM. Tuesdays are "Thrifty Tuesdays"
highlighting the manager's specials, and Thursdays are "Treats for Tricks
Training." So bring your pet in and have some fun! For more info, please
