It turns out the machine doesn’t always know. A driver who was using a GPS crashed her black Infiniti sedan on the Upper East Side this morning, according to DNAinfo.

After jumping the curb, the driver hit a pedestrian and then slammed into a brick wall at the East 96th Street and Lexington Avenue 6 train station. The driver and the pedestrian, both women, were taken to hospitals. One woman suffered a minor leg injury and was taken to NYU hospital.

Police said another car was involved in the accident and that the driver of that vehicle stayed at the scene.

According to a Starbucks employee, the Infiniti driver attempted to make a turn east from Lexington onto 96th Street when she crashed. A food cart vendor working nearby said the driver was bleeding from her nose when she got out of the car. He added that the car had Maryland license plates.
