In the alcohol vernacular, the acronym ABV stands for alcohol by volume. This is also the name of the a new wine bar scheduled to open this week. ABV Wine Bar stems from chef Corey Cova and Mike Cesari, the co-owner of Earl’s Beer & Cheese, which is right around the corner.
The intimate 60-seat venue offers a boastful wine menu, offering modestly prices glasses, half-glasses, bottles, and “price by consumption,” which is here one pays for whatever it is he or she drinks.
In addition to the wide array of wines, ABV offers a medley of cheeses and bar foods. There is aged cheddar, Ouray, Bayley Hazen Blue puree, sirloin-tartare pizza, pocket burgers, sirloin steak and fried blueberry pie.
