Find 'Comfort' in Pascalou's Personalized Dishes
Find 'Comfort' in Pascalou's Personalized Dishes - Upper East Side - Restaurants - NYC

Patrons at Pascalou will never get just "another meal." This intimate and exceptional French eatery serves the highest quality dishes that will warm the soul. This is not your typical French bistro, serving cliched and overdone classic French entrees. Pascalou believes in so much more than simply feeding people- they serve "comfort food," that people love.

"It reminds people of when they were kids," said the restaurant's chef of the selections on Pascalou's uniquely designed menu. From the eggplant bordelaise, with Japanese eggplant, sauteed shallots, mushroom and garlic, smothered in melted goat cheese with Italian parsley and baby arugula appetizer, to the three types of stuffed chicken cordon bleu entrees, all stomachs will be pleased with what's served for dinner.

"When I do new dishes the only thing I am interested in is the way the plates look when they are returned to the kitchen," the chef said. Confident plates will be licked clean; Pascalou will offer patrons requested dishes to create a home-like atmosphere. One of these off-menu options is the Valentines day special, the chicken cordon vert. This classic and delicious stuffed chicken dish delicately and deliciously created with baby spinach, hazelnuts, pancetta and drizzled with an orange and cranberry glaze sauce, is available at request. Breaded lightly for a crisp and bountiful finish, this signature dish is better than mom's...and that's saying a lot! Add the special mashed plain potatoes or sweet potatoes, and round off this rich and satisfying meal.

For that special pallet, the chef recommends the spot's signature rabbit dish. Nicknamed "revenge of the rabbit," this rabbit dish, covered in eggplant and carrots, is a dish you wont find anywhere else.

To add some elegance to your home cooked meals, enjoy some of the bistro's personally selected wines. The white Beaujolais blanc wine is recommended, at $11-$12 a glass, after it was personally chosen by restaurant owners.

"We select our wine by taste.....we like to have our selection higher end." Boasting a uncommon and delicious selection of wines, this is just another feature of Pascalou's personalized touch.
