Event Details: Sat Feb 18, 2012 - 1:00pm at American Museum of Natural History ( 200 Central Park West, from 77th St. to 81st St. )

Celebrate the rich and growing culture of the Black community.

Saturday, February 18 at the American Museum of Natural History celebrate Black History Month with a day of family-friendly activities and live musical performances from noon to 6 p.m., concluding in a special concert by Darryl "DMC" McDaniels, co-founder of the legendary Run-DMC, who will be debuting some new singles from his soon-to-be-released album, Rock Solid.

Most, if not all musical forms have been influenced or stem from African styles. Over many generations quickly growing into what we now know as gospel, jazz, blues, soul music, and hip-hop are the American culmination of those influences.

Performances throughout the day include the innovative Harlem Quartet, dynamic First Corinthian Baptist Church Choir, and more.
