Chucky Cheese? Chucky, please. Better not try suggesting finger painting or play group or any of that childish fodder to your children these days - any in vogue 6-year-old knows that doing age-appropriate things with your kids is SO last season.
According to DNAinfo, the tents at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2012 are teaming with tots. If you thought that fashion’s affair with the vastly under-aged extended about as far as 15-year-old prodigy blogger Tavi Gevinson, oh, are you wrong.
This year’s fashionistas are finding little ones tugging at their maxi skirts left and right as parents shuffle their style-happy children into fashion shows everywhere. Some parents reported they were out to foster their kids’ aspirations in fashion, "[Maddie] wants to be a designer, [Nikki] wants to be an artist," father David Gough explained to DNAinfo at the Jill Stewart show.
It seems some kids, though, had successfully concealed their parents altogether. 12-year-old Ann Kunz, for one, probably scoffed at her mother when she suggested an afternoon at the park, and ordered her to stand back as she fielded questions in the press line.
"I am finally able to say I am wearing a brand," said Kunz, 12, in a black lace Armani dress with a Swarovski crystal necklace. "I will be honest. I like it because it makes me look thinner. Just because we are kids [it] doesn't mean we don't care."
Yeah, who’s ever going to notice you if there’s no label printed on your clothes? So important to cultivate healthy habits at a young age.
