And God said, "Let there be Slurpees!"
7-Eleven opened their second location on the Upper West Side with a grand opening ceremony on the corner of 89th Street and Columbus Avenue, West Side Rag reports.
The other 7-Eleven is on Amsterdam and 92nd Street.
This 7-Eleven will offer $1 pizza slices and two glazed donuts for $1.
This 7-Eleven locations on the Upper West Side are just two more examples of the Slurpee-rific chain store is slowly weasling its way into New York City neighborhoods. Last December, a 7-Eleven opened up on the Bowery in the Lower East Side. Couple that with the opening of the IHOP in the East Village and it seems there's a full-on onslaught of corporate america militia.
With the Upper West Side's propensity for fighting against chain stores and in favor of mom & pop shops, it'll be interesting to see how the neighborhood reacts.
