Grab the kids and head to Harlem for Harlem Week's “Salute to the Children of Haiti” this Sunday, Aug. 21.
For music and dancing, head on over to the YMCA stage where there will be an array of community-based performances or try the Fifth Avenue Stage for some gospel, jazz and soul. And the fun doesn’t stop there. There will be plenty of food, games, a children’s fashion show and many other activities to choose from.
But it’s not all games – we’re betting it’ll still be fun though. Harlem Week managed to squeeze in a practical lesson or two. Knowing the importance of your child’s health, the festival will focus on oral health care, diabetes, obesity, asthma and dietary health and excising. In addition, they will offer health testing, information, education and training.
The event is free to the public and lasts from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
For more information, check out the Harlem Week website.
Address: W. 135 St., bet. 5th & St. Nicholas Aves.
