Two years later, Langston Hughes' East Harlem brownstone is still on the market.
Harlem Bespoke reports that the townhouse where Hughes spent the latter portion of his life has been on the market since 2009. After a price chop from $1.2 to $1 million, and a new broker in August 2010, the interest has waned.
The space is currently designed for Single Room Occupancy, so a complete overhaul would be required for anyone who purchased the home. However, the original detailing is still in good condition – even the original clawfoot tub is still standing in the master bathroom.
