Serious Eats has tasted and judged tacos throughout the city and East Harlem has won the trophy for obtaining the best taco spot in town.
From Puerto Rican-, Dominican-, and Mexican-owned resteraunts to grocers serving spicy, delicious tacos on portable flattops to the street truck, this Mexican wrap can make you lick you fingers from dawn till dusk.
After traveling the strip between Lexington and Second Avenue in the El Barrio section of East Harlem and taste testing at the best taquerias, the winner was finally introduced: El Aguila!
These succulent tacos include slowly simmered pork shoulders enveloped in yummy tortillas reheated in pork fat, and topped with fresh onions and cilantro, and your choice of any four exquisitely prepared salsas.
Other taco joints in El Barrio to make Serious Eats' list include Las Delicias Mexicanas and Taco Mix.
