Tis' the season for whimsical music, and the melodies that warm your heart rest in the assurance of hearing some of the best music this holiday season has to offer. Between the carolers and the holiday tidings at Bryant Park, it's only natural that you are receiving that warm and fuzzy feeling you get when you snuggle up to a cup of warm cocoa on a brisk winter day.
Yet, if you're in the mood to be part of New York's vital early music scene, the Gotham Early Music Scene invites you to experience the holiday cheer in surround sound by attending a one of the first-rate performances of "early music" throughout New York City. The fall season offers a spectacular array of performances with a couple of exciting events for you and a couple friends or family to enjoy in the month of December.
Here's the December line-up:
- Dec. 10 Salon/Sanctuary Concerts Trefoil: Church of Ephiphany
- Dec. 11-12 Trinity Choir Handel's Messiah: Trinity Wall Street
- Dec. 16 Canticum Novum with Parthenia, St. Ignatius of Antioch
- Dec. 17 Salon/ Sanctuary Concerts Clarion Music Society: "More Between Heaven and Earth" with Melissa Errico and Matthew Modine, Abigail Adams Smith Auditorium

The holiday season only lasts for another month, but the musical experience at GEMS lasts a lifetime. Ticket prices start at $25 for adults and are often discounted to $15 for students and seniors 65 and over, and advanced registration is required, so visit our website or come to the door at any of these concerts and keep your festive feelings going.
