It's a week of remembrance in Uptown.
This is your final week to experience The Twin Towers and the City exhibit on display at the City Museum of New York. It is a reminder of the prominence held by the World Trade Center in not only the city's history, but also its future. The exhibit will remain open until Dec. 4.
Also this week, remember one of the most influential leaders of the American Civil Rights movement, Malcolm X. Malcolm X: A Search for Truth is now running at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. The New York Public Library Exhibit features speeches, diary entries and other documents that showcase the inner life of Malcolm X as he struggled for equality in America.
The exhibit features many of his hand-written or typed speeches, sermons, radio broadcasts, diary entries, correspondences, and other documents. The exhibit does not aim to solely lionize Malcolm X and put him up on an idealistic pedestal.
