On Wednesday, December 1 Greenwich Village Society for Historic Preservation hosted the highly anticipated town hall meeting to discuss the NYU 2031 expansion plan. Washington Square News has all the insider information on what took place behind the doors of Our Lady of Pompei’s Basement Hall. GVSHP’s executive director Andrew Berman lead the evening with a presentation on NYU’s expansion plan proclaiming once again that the Financial District would be an all-around better location for the institution’s expansion plans. Berman exclaimed the area would not only be more open to NYU’s presence, but would also provide better building zones. Many neighborhood residents had the opportunity to voice their opinions on the expansion plan, and many openly stated their disdain for the school’s expansion plans.
