Miss Lily's Variety has the look and feel of Jamaica, but much closer for West Village residents.

Thirsty New Yorkers can fill up on a variety of fresh juices ($8-10), as well as "Famous Patties" made from beef, curried chicken, callaloo and potato, the New York Post reports.

Miss Lily's goal was to offer a Jamaican-hipster feel to the area, and they have accomplished it indeed. Hot 97 DJ Cipha Sounds dropped by recently, and while sipping a banana, pineapple and coconut infusion and fishing records from the reggae crates in Miss Lily's record shop, said, “It’s hard to find places like this in the city. You usually have to go to Brooklyn.”

And, of course, the Jamaican and Rastafarian spiritual and whole foods diet, Ital, is emphasized at the juice bar. A Jamaican Green, for example, contains kale, apple, lemon, ginger and celery.

Variety's juice person in charge, Melvin Major, says that maybe the greens of his juice might do something to the body to replace the need for coffee. For some people, juice is the new java, he says.

The store also features juices for those NYU students, as Major says, minoring in boozing. The Rise Up ($10) is made from wheatgrass, four kinds of fruits and pollen.

Miss Lily's owners come with a restaurant-scene background under their belts, too: Genc Jakupi, manager of the Box nightclub, his brother Binn, a longtime nightclub doorman, and Joe’s Pub operator Serge Becker.
