Heading over to the West Village & Greenwich Village this week? Well, you are in luck as there are plenty of events taking place.
As we all mourn the disappointing loss by New York Yankees in the playoffs (and the overall "typical" season for the Mets) we can at least take pride in some fantastic baseball artwork. James Fiorentino’s portraits of baseball idols have been in great demand and scene all over the world like the Baseball Hall of Fame. Through Oct. 15 the Bergino Baseball Clubhouse will be featuring an exhibit of Fiorentino’s art. This will include some Yankee greats like Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra.
You cannot stay in Yankee mourning forever, so grab the family and take pleasure at The Players Theatre for the Literally Alive production, Stone Soup. This is a great family event jam-packed with music, dancing and a valuable moral. Make sure to be there early for the hour-long pre-show workshop where families can meet the cast and get a lesson on percussion music. Tickets cost $25.
Soon it will become quite breezy outside, so now is your opportunity to enjoy a starry night. The Windmill Factory is presenting their “Reflecting the Stars” display at Pier 49 at the Hudson River Park until Oct. 25. The wirelessly-controlled-solar-powered-LED-lamp display is a site to see! The free event hopes to inspire people to preserve the environment so we can enjoy nights like this naturally.
You are going to want to treat your appetite after taking part in all of these great events so make sure to grab a bite at Sam Bahri’s Steakhouse. This is the prime location to enjoy a traditional steakhouse meal such as the juicy bone-in rib eye or the dry-aged porterhouse. You are going to love these delicious cuts of meat and the comfortable atmosphere.
