A Celebration of Light is a dazzling experience for all, and for those who couldn't get enough of the wondrous journey that Richard Drake presents, the show has now been extended through March.
Drake's dynamic light sculptures feature a wide array of creations that represent contained beauty by filling empty, dark spaces with an ethereal ambiance that shines through with an organic, yet industrial integrity.
The show also highlights much of Drake's early works which focus on form, and the exploration of artistic functionality in his newer and more refined pieces. You will see that the artistic beauty present in Drake's work is craftfully displayed without ever having to turn the light on, but once the pieces are lit, the formations come alive and create a brand new experience for the viewer.
This light show transcends everything you could possibly imagine when it comes to aesthetics of light in its truest form, and now you can enjoy it by appointment starting February 26 and into the month of March.
Barking Lizards Gallery continues to present an eclectic collection of art by gifted studio artists such as Richard Drake, and seeks to showcase a unique appreciation for the arts throughout New York City. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from 1pm- 7pm, and from 1pm - 4pm on Sundays, or by appointment. After February 26 the gallery will be open for appointment only. Please call (718) 963-1623.
