Include your canine companion in the Halloween fun with McGolrick Park and District Dog’s free Halloween parade and costume contest on Sunday, Oct. 30. There should be a good mix of dogs draped in Poland’s national colors, pups in Steve Zissou red caps and some dogs who may just wear their daily ironic outfit.
The judges will give awards for the best individual costume as well as the best pair. If you only have one dog, choose a couples costume for yourself and your dog. Dachshund owners, break out that hot dog bun costume, or bring down the mood with Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore costumes. Just don’t fight over who gets to be the white swan and who gets to wear the black tutu.
The McGolrick Park and District Dog Halloween event will also include the opportunity to adopt a pooch.
The festivities start at 2 p.m. For more details, visit the District Dog website.
