Survived the three days of Halloween witching hours in Williamsburg and the random snowstorm last weekend? Gear up, get out, and explore!

If you haven’t already checked out the Brooklyn Brewery with expanded touring hours and free sampling, then it’s a quick and easy stop along a nice walk to the Williamsburg waterfront. Included in the tour is a free pint of the holy grail of Brooklyn brews, the Brewmasters Reserve, and a 45-minute tour and walk through of the facilities where you’ll learn how they make the delicious elixir that keeps you asking for more.

Barking Lizards artist of the month Valerie Bunnell has created a series of figures made of porcelain that vaguely resemble the art direction of the night before Christmas. The power of Bunnell’s work is in her attention to narrative detail. Using familiar structures and layouts of porcelain dolls she is effective at bringing the audience into an alternate reality, one where figures formed out of basic shapes could ride an airplane with a flower for a propeller.

The Anchored Inn at 57 Waterbury Street is an eclectic addition to an otherwise desolate area. With the signature quirkiness of the area, complete with a stairway that pulls down like a drawbridge, “attractive” bartenders will pour and mix you up drinks for competitive prices. Nicest of all is happy hour, where you can get a draught beer and burger made by Brooklyn Star Chef David Patterson for just $10. Beat that East Village.
